57th meeting of ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information opens

Themed "Digital Transformation: Access for All," the event was co-held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong said that the event is to set out orientations and outline measures to link digital transformation in ASEAN cultural and information cooperation.

Meanwhile, the annual meeting will consider and approve cooperation projects in the field of culture and information to be implemented in 2023.

Delegates at the event

The 57th meeting is seen as an occasion for Vietnam to show its responsibility as a member of ASEAN in the specialized cooperation mechanism. It is also a step to execute the plan to build and materialize the goals of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) until 2025 and the Government’s Action Plan on the dissemination of ASEAN with a vision to 2030.

Within the framework of the National Tourism Year 2022 in Quang Nam province, the event contributes to popularizing Vietnam’s culture and tourism potential, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding in the ASEAN Community, and fostering a sense of ASEAN identity among people in the international community.
