We must have a high determination to protect our sea and islands while focusing on mobilizing all potentials and advantages of the sea, closely combining economic development with consolidation of national defense and security at sea to create favorable conditions for foreign investors and fishermen, he noted.

The seminar aims to exchange good experiences and effective ways for cooperation among the forces in charge of protecting the national sovereignty over the islands; and innovate contents of information dissemination programs with the aim of mobilizing all relevant forces to jointly mange national sea and islands in the southern region of the country.

Canh also suggested the delegates focus on main topics such as sea's characteristics, the advantages and difficulties affecting coordination between forces, results of coordination in recent times and practical experiences, as well as information dissemination on maritime laws for fishermen.
