Naval region holds teleconference on seas and islands
PANO – The Naval Region 4 Command and the Binh Phuoc provincial Board for Information and Education co-hosted a teleconference on the national seas and islands in the province’s Dong Xoai city on August 14.
Accordingly, the naval region introduced a number of presentations on managing and protecting the national sovereignty over seas, islands and continental shelves in the current context. The presentations also included basic knowledge on the Law of the Sea of Vietnam and the Law of Fisheries.
They were also equipped with major contents of the directive No.01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 by the Prime Minister on the people’s participation in safeguarding the national sovereignty and border security in the current context as well as several legal regulations on fishing at sea.
In addition, the organizing panel spotlighted State laws on safeguarding its sovereignty and sovereign rights over seas and islands of Vietnam, the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on developing the socio-economy in combination with reinforcing the national sea and island sovereignty, current situation in the East Sea (South China Sea) and territorial disputes in seas and islands in the world.
