The event welcomed the 2019-2020 academic year and marked the 75th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army. It attracted the participation of around 1,000 students and teachers from the school.

During the contest, the participants were equipped with general knowledge and information about the 2018 Law of Vietnam Coast Guard and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). They also learned the missions and traditions of the coast guard force of Vietnam and about the harmful effects that drugs have on students.

The activities aimed to raise students’, teachers’ and local people’s patriotism as well as their responsibility for protecting national sovereignty over seas and islands. They also looked to strengthen understanding and solidarity between troops, young people, and women of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command along with local students, teachers, and residents. 

The Coast Guard Region 4 Command grants scholarships to ten needy students with excellent academic records

At the event, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command presented gifts and VND 5 million in cash to Duong Dong 1 Secondary School, and granted scholarships, worth VND 500,000 each, to ten needy students with excellent academic records. Sponsors also handed over ten bicycles to needy students and a laptop to the school.
