Vietnam - timeless charm: Bat Trang village attracts foreigners
PANO – Located on the bank of the Red River, about 10km southeast of Hanoi capital, Bat Trang ceramic and porcelain village (Gia Lam - Hanoi) is one of the most well-known traditional trade villages of Vietnam.
Bat Trang is also one of the few trade villages that has successfully kept their typical features. The subtle patterns on ceramic and porcelain products have been ever-developed, not falling into oblivion like other traditional trade villages.
Products at the village are made by skillful and intelligent workers and artisans; therefore, they are very attractive to tourists, especially foreign tourists. With its subtle and diversified products and friendly locals, the village lures around 50,000 domestic and 10,000 foreign tourists each year.
A lot of tourists visit Bat Trang village at the weekend.
