PANO - These days, a huge number of tourists have flocked to Bat Trang pottery village in Hanoi to purchase as well as take photos of its special pottery products for the coming 2014 Lunar New Year festival.
Apart from its traditional products like big-bellied jars, statues and ceramic mosaics, local artisans produce pottery and plaster horses to meet their customers’ decoration needs during the Tet holiday.
A local craftsman said 2014 is the Year of the Horse, so these products are in demand. Of which, most people buy plaster horses, which cost between VND 10,000 and VND 150,000.
The Bat Trang Old Kiln Tourist Area, well-known for a 120-year-old kiln, is attracting a large number of domestic and foreign visitors.
Aside from introducing the site’s history and instructing visitors on how to make pottery products, its employees produce and sell high quality and various pottery souvenirs, especially pottery horses at different prices.
