The tri-border marker in A Pa Chai

In A Pa Chai, there is a tri-border marker on the top of Khoang La San Mountain, 1,864 m above sea level. This marble marker has three sides facing three directions, each side has the national emblem and the country's name, engraved in each country's language.

In the past, it was difficult to conquer A Pa Chai since tourists had to cross three hills, forests, and wade streams. At present, it is more convenient for tourists thanks to a wide road from Sin Thau commune to A Pa Chai and a concrete road leading to the foot of Khoang La San Mountain. Tourists have to climb 500 steps up to the tri-border marker.

Strawberry gardens

There are two strawberry gardens using Japanese growing technology in Na Tau and Muong Phang communes, nearly 30 km from the center of Dien Bien Phu city. In recent years, the strawberry growing model has developed in Dien Bien, attracting visitors to experience strawberry picking. Strawberries here have a naturally sweet taste because growers do not use herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and growth stimulants.

Muong Nhe Nature Reserve

Covering more than 45,000 hectares, stretching through five communes in Muong Nhe district, Muong Nhe Nature Reserve is adjacent to the border of Laos and China, with a road connecting with A Pa Chai and the center of Muong Nhe district.

Passing through roads with mountains and forests on both sides some 200 km from Dien Bien Phu city, tourists arrive at Huoi So commune, Tua Chua district.
