Around 700 Japanese visitors are expected to visit Vietnam between July 4th and 6th, and this is the largest number of visitors from Japan to visit Vietnam after Japan was hit by the terrible disasters last March.

Japan is one of the most vital markets for Vietnam tourism with, for example, 442,000 Japanese visitors coming to Vietnam last year. The number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam this year is expected to increase by 15 to 20% in comparison with that of last year. The recent calamity in Japan has resulted in a 40% drop in the numbers of Japanese visitors, compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam’s international travel agencies forecast that the Japanese market would recover soon and it remains a potentially strong source of visitors. World tourism experts predicted that the Japanese market would recover completely in the third quarter of this year.
