The NDA will issue policies and the project’s legal framework, while also serving as its certifying authority. Sun Group will be responsible for developing and operating the technology platform. The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism will support communications, promotion through national channels, and encourage tourism businesses to join the project.
The platform’s data will mainly come from the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the business community, and travelers.
“Visit Vietnam” will integrate advanced technologies, such as the AI Travel Assistant, which can plan and book services automatically; NDAchain.vn, a decentralized authentication platform ensuring reliability and transparency of information, along with transportation, accommodation, dining, and loyalty services. With blockchain technology and tokenization security, data on the platform will be verified and protected.
In October 2025, the project will launch the National Data Platform, introduce Version 1.0 of the National Tourism Dashboard for the Government, and operate the project’s portal. In the second quarter of 2026, the platform will go public, focusing on building trust and providing trip-planning tools, including a blockchain-based authentic review system and itinerary planning features.
The APEC 2027 Summit in Vietnam will mark an international milestone for Visit Vietnam, with direct booking services, AI-based itinerary suggestions, and the launch of data-as-a-service (DaaS) for businesses. The goal is to become a comprehensive tourism super app after 2027, offering one-touch booking, multimedia integration, and positioning Vietnam’s tourism market globally.
At the conference, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the NDA, and strategic partners such as Sun Group, Visa, Mastercard, and Trip.com signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the Visit Vietnam national tourism data platform.
Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, expressed hope that “Visit Vietnam” will address the problems of fragmented, unconnected, and hard-to-access information.
Major Dao Duc Trieu, Secretary-General of the NDA, affirmed that this is an important step in building a public-private tourism data ecosystem, connecting data from many sources to serve three goals at once: management, business, and traveler experience.
He said tourism data not only reflect visitor numbers, destinations, and services, but also provide a foundation for forecasting trends, optimizing products, improving visitor experiences, and supporting evidence-based policymaking. Data will enable businesses to innovate, deliver personalized services, and connect Vietnam’s tourism ecosystem with the global market.
