The event was also attended by Le Thi Thuy Sen, member of the National Assembly’s Ombudsman and Oversight Committee; Senior Colonel Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper; Vu Thu Hang, Communications Director of Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank and TH Group (representing Vi Tam Voc Viet Foundation); local authorities, and numerous association members.
Nam Dong Hung commune’s Association for AO/dioxin Victims currently has 195 members operating across four branches and 16 grassroots-level sub-branches. Over the past years, the association has actively mobilized all resources to care for the victims’ material and spiritual lives.
However, the association faces some limitations as most members are elderly with declining health, while the sequelae of chemical toxins continues to affect the second and third generations. Furthermore, resource mobilization has become increasingly challenging. In response, the congress outlined goals and practical solutions to enhance the association’s effectiveness in the time ahead.
To share these hardships, Vi Tam Voc Viet Foundation, Bac A Bank, TH Group, and the People’s Army Newspaper donated VND 195 million and 3,360 glasses of TH True Milk to the commune’s association. On this occasion, Le Thi Thuy Sen, on behalf of the Vietnam Payment Solution Joint Stock Company (VNPay), presented VND 50 million to help improve the victims’ living conditions.

The delegation also visited and presented gifts to three severely disadvantaged households in Nam Dong Hung commune, so as to help them overcome difficulties.
Vu Van Xuyen, Chairman of Nam Dong Hung commune’s AO/dioxin Victims Association, noted that these meaningful gifts contributed to encourage them, beside material support. He added that they also motivated the association to further enhance its operations, helping ease the pain of Agent Orange in the locality.
Over the past years, in addition to dissemination mission, the People’s Army Newspaper has actively partnered with Vi Tam Voc Viet Foundation, Bac A Bank, TH Group, to implement various social welfare and gratitude activities, supporting policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people nationwide. This continues to affirm corporate social responsibility and spread a community-oriented spirit of compassion.
