* In the border commune of Thuong Trach, the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to inaugurate a temple dedicated to Truong Son soldiers who laid down their lives at Ca Roong – ATP point.

The event was attended by former State President Truong Tan Sang, representatives of ministries, central agencies, and Quang Binh province, relatives of fallen soldiers and local people. Ca Roong – ATP point on Road 20 in Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province was one of the important sections on the historical Ho Chi Minh Trail. During the resistance war against the American imperialists, many young people shed their blood and tears in key points of Tra Ang, Ca Roong, ATP, contributing to enriching the tradition of the legend trail.

* The same day, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and representatives of ministries, agencies and the city visited Thi Nghe Nursing Center.

During the visit, Mr. Nen inquired after elderly people and expressed deep gratitude to policy beneficiaries, national contributors, and wounded soldiers who had braved dangers and hardships and been ready to sacrifice for national independence, freedom, and reunification. 

* The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Quang Tri province, planted trees at national war cemeteries in Quang Tri province and kicked off a youth journey.

During the program, together with planting trees around national war cemeteries in the province, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment assisted to build a watering system at Road 9 National War Cemetery.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee handed over gratitude houses and welfare projects, worth VND 1 billion, and gifts, worth VND 500 million in total, to those with great contribution to the revolution. The youth union central committee also allocated VND hundreds of million to assist the tree-planting program at war cemeteries and the building of a power system.

At the event, the organizing panel presented gifts to 50 policy beneficiaries and needy students with good academic results in Quang Tri province.

* The Military Youth Advisory Board, in collaboration with the Political Department of Military Region 4, the Thua Thien Hue provincial Youth Union Chapter, and agencies and units insides and outside the military, held a candle-lit ceremony and an artistic program at night on July 24 at the War Cemetery of Hue City.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Major General Nguyen Van Gau. 

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates, young troops, and local youths paid tribute to the fallen and lid thousands of candles and offered incense in commemoration of contribution of the eminent people to national independence and freedom.

After the candle-lit ceremony, delegates, troops, and local people and youths took part in an artistic program. During the event, the organizing panel presented gifts to 40 policy families and 15 needy students with good academic results and two houses, worth VND 80 million each, to locals.

Earlier the same day, the organizing panel worked with agencies and units inside and outside the military to provide free health check-ups, consultation, and medicines for over 400 local residents and hand over 173 gifts to policy beneficiaries, needy people, and needy students with good academic records.
