VRC helps central locals overcome storm consequences
PANO - The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC) on September 17 donated VND 1,558 million to help people in flood-hit areas address consequences of typhoon Doksuri in six provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue.

The sum is set to assist families with members killed during the storm and 240 households, whose houses had collapsed or were swept away by the flood, with VND 3 million each. In addition, the families with damaged houses were also supported with VND one million while 250 house repair kits were provided to affected households.
The same day, the VRC also asked organizations at all levels to mobilize their members, volunteers and people from all walks of life to support flood-hit people to overcome the Doksuri storm consequences.
This support campaign will last until the end of October 2017. The VRC mobilized all of their members to contribute at least one day’s salary to support flood and storm victims.
