The program, which takes place from Jan. 16 to Feb. 8, aims to help local families to clean their houses ahead of the Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival in 2018. The proceeds from the work will slate for charitable activities in the city.

As scheduled, participants of the program will also make nearly 2,000 "Banh Chung" (Vietnamese traditional cake for the Lunar New Year) to present to lonely elderly people, street children, or children in social protection centers.

The program is expected to provide participating students with practical experiences and skills such as teamwork, communication, and persuasiveness while raising their awareness of environmental protection, compassion and responsibility for the community.

At the launching ceremony of the program, the volunteers took part in activities such as blood donation, calligraphy writing, and folk games. Also, the organizing board handed over nearly 150 gifts to the elderly and children living in Lam Quang Pagoda in District 8.
