PANO - A delegation of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, led by its Deputy Director Lt. Gen. Do Can, visited the Vietnam Friendship Village on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Vietnam Day for Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers (July 27, 1947).

The village is now taking care of nearly 4,000 veterans and former volunteer youths, who are Agent Orange/Dioxin victims, and rearing more than 600 children exposed to Agent Orange.

At the visit, Lt. Gen. Do Can acknowledged efforts made by the village's staff and stressed that over the past years, the Ministry of National Defense has regularly collaborated with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to provide good advice for the State and Party to build on policies for AO/Dioxin victims.

In addition, he hoped that the village's staff would continue overcoming difficulties to take better care of AO/Dioxin victims, and educate disadvantaged children to help them reintegrate into the community.
