Vietnamese student wins silver at Russian language Olympiad
PANO - Vietnamese student Le Huynh Duc from Nguyen Hue High School for Gifted Student in Hanoi won a silver medal at the newly-ended 15th International Russian Language Olympiad, announced the Ministry of Education and Training.

Held in early December, the International Russian Language Olympiad drew the participation of more than 2,500 students from 44 countries around the world and 150 outstanding students from 31 countries were selected to compete in the final round. This year, four Vietnamese representatives were from Nghe An and Hoa Binh provinces, Hanoi and the High School at the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
The International Russian Language Olympiad has been held every four years since 1972 by the Russian Ministry of Science and Education and the Russian World Fund under the sponsorship of International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature. Apart from taking part in competitions, the participants have an opportunity to learn about Russian culture and people through activities at schools in Russia.
Winners of the Olympiad will be exempted from entrance exams to universities in Russia.
