The campaign lasts for 45 days, from March 18 to April 30.

To support people in the drought-hit region, organizations and individuals can send their donations to the VRC's address at No. 82, Nguyen Du Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi, and No. 201, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

They can also send donations to the VRC’s accounts 124 02 02 005 348 (for VND), 124 02 02 018198 (for USD), and 124 02 02 006862 (for EUR) at the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank).

Speaking at the launching ceremony, VRC Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu called upon the community to give a hand to people seriously hit by droughts and saltwater intrusion and to join the country’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19.

Earlier, the VRC coordinated with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to carry out emergency relief for locals in 12 communes in Ben Tre, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh provinces. The effort is operating with a budget of over VND 2.5 billion (USD 107,316).

As planned, 24,000 poor and sub-poor households in the delta will be provided with clean water.

The VRC handed over 3,000 face masks and 100 boxes of instant noodles to people in Hanoi, and are supporting anti-epidemic activities in 9 provinces and cities with the total budget of VND 2.1 billion.
