During the three-month campaign, starting
from September 1, Vietnamese and Chinese police, border guard, customs and
coast guard forces regularly exchanged information about drug crime at talks
and meetings or via hotlines as well as conducted joint patrols.
These activities contributed to each
country’s drug crime prevention and combat.
At the meeting, the participants
evaluated that cross-border drug trafficking is still complicated and investigation
to crack down on entire rings and identify masterminds remains modest.
Therefore, both sides agreed to
maintain information exchange and support each other in verifying and arresting
wanted criminals and drug-trafficking suspects in the time to come and consider
collaboration to organize another drug crime communication and crackdown
campaign in 2018.
