Various efforts to support AO victims
PANO - The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin (VAVA) on August 10 held a program themed “Joining hands to ease the AO/Dioxin pain - You are not alone.”
Attending the event were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; VAVA President, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh; Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army, Lieutenant General Le Hien Van; and representatives of departments and agencies, international friends, a large of war wounded and sick soldiers, and AO/Dioxin victims.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh praised the achievements of VAVA organizations at all levels over the past years, and sent best wishes to AO/Dioxin victims who have tried hard to overcome difficulties and challenges in life.

He also stressed that AO/Dioxin has left serious consequences; therefore, the whole community should join hands to help AO/Dioxin victims ease their pains and difficulties in life.
Through the program, the Deputy Prime Minister called on domestic and international individuals and organizations to jointly support AO/Dioxin victims to overcome the physical and spiritual difficulties, and asked relevant departments and agencies to cooperate with each other in better implementing policies for AO/Dioxin victims.
At the event, the VAVA presented the Certificate of Appreciation to 14 domestic and foreign collectives and five individuals for their great contributions to helping Vietnamese AO/Dioxin victims.

On the occasion, VAVA also held an auction of two pictures, launched a text message campaign themed “Joining hands to ease the AO/Dioxin pain in 2019.” All money collecting from these activities will be transferred to the VAVA fund to support AO/Dioxin victims.
