Troubled fisherman rescued at sea
PANO – A troubled fisherman was just rescued by Ship SAR 411 on November 19, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) announced on November 20.
Previously, fisherman Ho Xuan Hieu on Trawler NA 99199 TS had a severe stomachache when his trawler was fishing about 100 nautical miles southeast of Cua Lo town in Nghe An province.

Upon receiving the information, the Vietnam MRCC immediately connected and collaborated with doctors of the National Institute of Maritime Medicine to provide first aid for the troubled fisherman. His symptom was diagnosed as acute appendicitis that needed urgent surgery.
Ship SAR 411 was sent for the rescue mission and reached the scene by 6:16 pm on November 19.
The troubled fisherman was taken ashore safely by 10:48pm the same day and was rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
