The gift-presentation ceremony saw the presence of Politburo member, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Secretariat, and head of the PCC’s Organization Commission Pham Minh Chinh and was  jointly organized by Thai Binh province’s Party Committee, People’s Council and Committee, and the Vietnam Joint-stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank).

The same day, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man visited and presented gifts to 100 laborers facing difficulties in An Giang province. Man also handed over five great unity houses to poor households in My Thoi ward, Long Xuyen city, An Giang province.

* Prior to Tet Festival, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh gifted 80 people in Ia Dok and Thang Hung communes in Gia Lai province. Each person received a present valued at VND 1 million and other necessities extracted from the fund for the poor of the Central Committee, Gia Lai province and Hanoi city.

* A mission from the Military Region 5 Command, led by Major General Doan Kieu, the Command’s Deputy Chief, paid a Tet visit to the center caring for  national contributors of Da Nang City, during which General Kieu handed over gifts from the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5 to the center, and 60 other gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, to heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded and sick soldiers under care at the center.

* During the two-day voluntary spring camping festival 2020 in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province, the provincial Youth Organization built houses for two local poor households, planted trees at a monument dedicated to fallen troops, launched a painting contest, presented nearly 1,000 gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, poor children and households, granted bikes to 20 disadvantaged students with good academic records and handed over 200 national flags to local fishermen.

Its members also offered incense to commemorate fallen soldiers, disseminated information about the glorious tradition of the Party, joined a spring fair, and assisted locals in upgrading local roads and cleaning up local environment.

* Also on January 4, during the program “Tet for victims of AO/Dioxin” in Bac Lieu city, Bac Lieu province, jointly organized by the Associations for Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin of Vietnam and Bac Lieu province, the organizers presented 50 gifts to local AO/dioxin victims.

* In the sixth “Light of empathy,” Ho Chi Minh City Police, the city’s association for poor patients and other organizations offered free eye surgeries and presented Tet gifts to 150 poor patients, elderly and people living alone in Southwestern provinces, bringing light and a cozy Tet to them ahead of the lunar New Year festival. The total cost for the program was over VND 350 million.

* The Labor Union of Quang Binh province has organized a meaningful Tet program at a cost of VND 4.4 billion for local workers. Accordingly, two boarding houses will be built for labor union members in remote and mountainous areas and 250 poor labor union members will receive loans from the fund for them. Besides, 29 labor union houses will be under repairs and 630 Tet gifts will be presented to local labor union members and workers.
