PANO – As of January 19th, more than 2,000 bus tickets have been given to students and workers in need in Ho Chi Minh City, announced the city Student Assistance Center.

These are among 3,500 tickets of the program “The Spring Bus- A Tet (Lunar New Year) of Union” for students and workers, carried out by the center until January 25th.

Apart from bus tickets, the center mobilized businesses to present gifts and to provide part-time jobs at supermarkets and entertainment areas for disadvantaged students who will celebrate the Tet festival in the city.

A similar program will also be held to benefit students and workers in need in both Hanoi and Da Nang.

The same day, the Vietnam Youth Union Central Committee and Kido Corporation announced the program, “Thanks for the women of the year”, to present Tet tickets to female workers.

Accordingly, more than 1,600 bus tickets will be distributed to Hanoi, Hung Yen and Binh Duong provinces, and Ho Chi Minh City. These provinces and cities’ youth unions will hand over free tickets to the recipients and send volunteers to bus stations to help the workers have a comfortable trip.

The program aims to pay gratitude to women who are working in industrial processing areas and help them have a happy and warm Tet holiday with their families. It is also to encourage organizations, units, and communities to assist young female workers.
