Six high-quality trains to operate on North-South route
The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) is set to put six new passenger trains into operation on the North-South route on January 10, 2018, in an effort to improve service quality.
VNR said on the opening day, passengers will get a 10-percent discount on tickets for these trains.
It noted the trains are the combined products of railway, aviation, shipbuilding and auto industries. They were made from high-quality materials by modern technologies.
In the carriages with beds, each passenger position is equipped with a book light and a USB port for phone charging. In other carriages, passengers can adjust their seats and air conditioning devices.
Book shelves and electronic screens are also installed on the trains to serve passengers, VNR said.
It added that the firm will also pilot serving free airline-standard meals on its trains from January 10. This is one of the new services VNR and the Southern Airports Services Joint Stock Company coordinate to provide on VNR trains.
