Scholarships presented to COVID-19 orphans
PANO – A ceremony was held on June 1 in Ho Chi Minh City to grant scholarships to children orphaned by COVID-19 in the city on the International Children’s Day (June 1) and the birthday of the Queen of Thailand Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana (June 3).
The ceremony was jointly organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham), and the HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients.

At the event, representatives of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in HCMC and ThaiCham handed over 140 scholarships, worth VND 700 million in total, to children orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.
According to Thai Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Wiraka Moodhitaporon, the gifts were donated by the Thai enterprises and communities in Vietnam. They also demonstrated the sentiment of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and Thai communities in Vietnam to the Vietnamese people, contributing to consolidating the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Thailand.
