Quang Ngai embarks on $10,000 environment project
The People’s Committee in the central province of Quang Ngai’s Pho Thanh Commune yesterday embarked on a US$10,000 project “ Reduction of solid waste generated by daily activities in Go Co village” funded by Pacific Environment.

The project aiming to reduce single use plastic products will be carried out in Go Co village in Pho Thanh Commune. It is funded by Pacific Environment which will provide equipment and techniques.
The project targets that half of households in Go Co village will classify waste at home. With the project's orientation of saying no to single use plastic products, the village will be self-sufficient in organic fertilizer for planting.
Every resident in the village receives training of how to classify waste at home and sets of dust bins to contain different waste.
General Secretary of the Global Geoparks Network and chairperson of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council Guy Martini also granted VND75 million to the village for disseminating the village’s heritage value. A French photographer will be invited to take photographs of the village for exhibition.
