The program aims to bring meaningful gifts to needy children on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Accordingly, the program will take place at the Hanoi Opera House on January 21. This is an annual event held by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and other relevant organs for needy children in Vietnam. Since 2008, the program has raised hundreds of billions of VND for poor children in the country.

Addressing the conference, Director of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children Hoang Van Tien said that in 2017, the fund helped 106,400 needy children with a total value of VND 79 billion via healthcare checkups, education support programs and more.

Up to now, the Fund has received nearly VND 90 billion from 16 organizations, individuals and enterprises at home and abroad.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs presented certificates of merit to 11 outstanding groups and individuals for their great contributions over the past year.
