After the opening ceremony, the event attracted a large number of people. Having viewed the booths of 55 press and press training agencies at the festival, many of them showed their interest and optimism as the press has truly and professionally reflected different aspects of life. Nguyen Van Dao, a former lecturer in Hanoi, said the displayed press products are very eye-catching and feature deep contents, vividly reflecting the mainstream flow of the information of the country. He said having undergone the time under the French and Japanese domination, he affirmed that the present society is much better than those he had experienced in the past. He strongly believes in the leadership of the Party and feels happy with the dynamic and flexible working styles as well as the knowledge of the young journalists.
It is easy to understand why elderly Nguyen Van Dao had those feelings, as the press festival this year stages various forums for journalists to share their experiences and exchange experiences on their occupation. The shared stories partly reflect the bustling working atmosphere of the sector over the past years.

At the opening ceremony of the National Press Festival 2018 |
Addressing the event, leaders of the Party, State and National Assembly highly valued the initiative of organizing the festival, which features interesting and attractive contents, helping enhance exchange and connection among press agencies as well as those working in the press sector. They held that the press festival shows the development of Vietnam’s press agencies and their great contributions to the common efforts of all social forces in reaching and exceeding socio-economic targets set for 2017 as well as in other realms, such as Party and government building and revamping at all levels, political security, foreign relations activities, international issues, promotion of the images of Vietnam, its land and people to the world, etc. They strongly believe that the press sector will surely further contribute to the cause of national safeguarding and construction.
The Festival also helps those working in the press sector sharpen their skills and maintain their love for the occupation. A lot of journalists, reporters, those working in the press sector and even journalism students also attended the event. They have visited every booth, read press editions in display, exchanged with one another about the job and opinions about remarkable press works of the year. They have also shown their concerns about the challenges they might encounter when working in the sector. It can be said that the press festival seems like a common roof for the great family of the press sector, with solidarity, happiness and a lot of fun.
Themed “Vietnam’s press sector in the country’s journey of renewal”, the National Press Festival 2018 will end on March 18. Interesting events like talks, conferences, prize presentation for outstanding works, etc. will be held. The press festival also provides a chance for young journalists and reporters to learn more from others’ experience, expand their occupational networks, and maintain love for the occupation.
