People in distress saved at sea
PANO - Ship SAR 412 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center saved boat Ocean Bright with eight people on board (including four Indian crewmen) on the evening of Nov. 18.
Previously,
the vessel’s engine had stalled when
taking refuge from storm Kirogi in Quy Nhon waters. The distressed
boat was towed to the port of Naval
Fleet 48.

The same day, Ship SAR274 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue
Coordination Center successfully took patient Nguyen Duc Thanh, the owner and
captain of fishing boat QNg 94713 TS, to
shore safely. Previously, Thanh had experienced serious abdominal pain when fishing
about 50 nautical miles off the east of Da Nang city.
After receiving the information, the center guided the ship’s crew-members to provide first aid for the patient and sent Ship SAR274 to the scene to take the
patient ashore for further medical treatment.
