Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presents flower to the honored.

The event was held in celebration of the 68th anniversary of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27), the 113th anniversary of the International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 12th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women.

This first edition was held to honor the positive and effective contribution of female intellectuals in the health sector to the national socio-economic development in general and disease prevention and control in the 2019-2022. This event continues to affirm the position, role and merit and honor the achievements of female intellectuals in general and female intellectuals in health sector in particular.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha commended on the contribution of female intellectuals to the medical sector. Mentioning challenges confronting the health workers in the fourth industrial revolution, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his belief that the honorees will further contribute to the national socio-economic development in general and to medical sector and the community in particular.

At the event, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong highly appreciated the initiative of the Trade Union of the Health Ministry and the Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women to organize such an event.

Female intellectuals honored at the event

This activity not only recognized the contributions of women in the period of 2019-2022, but also encouraged other female health workers to continue striving to contribute to public healthcare. The Ministry of Health suggested that the Trade Union and Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women maintain this event and turn it into an annual activity.
