The patients, all male, are Indian experts who arrived at Tan Son Nhat airport on October 6 on Flight 6E 9471. They were sent to a concentrated quarantine facility in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap upon arrival.

The men are being treated at the province’s Sa Dec hospital.

Seven COVID-19 cases were previously reported on the same flight.

The national tally now stands at 1,122. Of the total, 691 contracted the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 domestically, with 551 reported since July 25 when the new outbreak began.

Also on October 14, three patients were given the all-clear, bringing the number of recoveries to 1,029. Death toll remains at 35.

Among the patients still under treatment, nine have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, four twice, and 13 thrice. Currently, there is no patient in critical conditions.

There are now 12,484 people having close contact with confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine, including 147 in hospitals, 11,512 in other quarantine sites, and 825 at home or accommodation facilities.
