PANO – Army units have conducted various activities to show gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for national independence and those who rendered good service to the nation.
On July 27th, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited wounded and sick soldiers at the Duy Tien Convalescent Centre in Ha Nam province. The official expressed deep gratitude to the fallen, wounded, sick solders, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and revolution contributors, and affirmed that the Party and State always remember their contributions to the national liberation and construction cause. On the occasion, he presented 20 TVs to the centre while the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids, and Social Affairs granted VND 20 million to assist the centre.

The same day, Military Hospital 109 under Military Zone 2 presented medical equipment and provided free health check-ups and consultation for more than 400 revolution contributors and needy people in Quang Son commune, Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province. Meanwhile, Military Hospital 7A of Military Zone 7 worked with other units conducted similar social activities in district 5, Ho Chi Minh City. More than 200 policy beneficiaries and needy people benefited from the program.
A stele in honor of great contributions of troops of the Regional Department of Logistics in the Vietnam War for national salvation was unveiled at the Commemoration Area of the department in Loc Hiep commune, Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province, on July 25th. The stele was funded by the Military Zone 7 Command and Loc Ninh district.
The Artillery Arm, in association with Dong Nai provincial Military Command, handed over a gratitude house to war invalid Ho Van Do in Tam An commune, Long Thanh district. The 60sq.m house was constructed at a cost of VND 115 million, including VND 70 million from the arm’s “Gratitude” Fund. Troops of the arm’s Brigade 96 contributed 150 working days to complete the house.
The Military Science and Technology Institute under the Ministry of National Defence has conducted various gratitude activities for its cadres, staff, and youths. Accordingly, the delegation offered incense in commemoration of martyrs at Hanoi’s Cemetery, visited and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers, and martyrs’ relatives. On the occasion, the unit inspected the construction progress of five gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries.
