Annually, Ho Chi Minh City’s Association of Farmers works with the Ho Chi Minh City Television to organize a New Year program to call on units, organizations, businesses, individuals, and benefactors to facilitate its social security activities. Notably, together with maintaining a scholarship program for students whose parents are the association’s poor and near-poor members, it has launched a sponsorship project for those whose parents or caregivers died due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has been carried out since 2021.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, students receiving scholarships and sponsorship from the association have shown improvements in their studying. Notably, three students and two pupils ranked among the best, while many other students were honored and rewarded.

Speaking at the meeting, President of Ho Chi Minh City’s Association of Farmers Nguyen Thanh Xuan emphasized that the event aimed to create favorable conditions for children and students to visit and learn about the history and traditions of the association and the significance of its New Year program. She hoped that they would continue to study and strive to obtain good academic results and become good citizens.

On the occasion, the association and businesses handed over 19 full scholarships to assist students in their second semester of the 20220-2023 academic year and June funding to 28 orphans with a total cost of VND 200 million. Participating children and students also received gifts from units on the occasion of the International Children’s Day (June 1).
