Tourist trains on the railway route between Ho Chi Minh City and Hue city will be officially deployed on the occasion of Uncle Ho’s birthday anniversary, May 19th,according to railway officials.

In the beginning, there will be a train departing every 3 days, then the frequency will increase to one train a day starting from June 1st.

Officials said that two trains, named SH1 and SH2, will be used on the route and are of a modern, luxurious tourist design with 12 cars each.

Under the timetable, SH1 will depart the Sai Gon station at 2 p.m. everyday and arrive in Hue at 2.14 p.m. the next day; while SH2 will leave Hue at 5.25 a.m. and reach Ho Chi Minh City at 6.40 a.m. the following morning.

The Sai Gon Railways Passenger Transportation Company said that it had invested VND 40 billion in building and upgrading cars for the trains.
