In his speech, VNYDA Chairman Pham Van Thanh emphasized that support for people with disabilities has seen positive progress. Notably, for the first time, a person with disabilities was elected to the 16th National Assembly, showing stronger participation of the community of people with disabilities in socio-political life. New activities, such as the “Miss Crescent Moon 2025” contest, a nationwide fashion program for people with disabilities, and the construction of a handicraft vocational center by Vun Art social enterprise in Hanoi have also created more job opportunities and creative spaces for people with disabilities.

According to the organizers, INSPIRE FEST is expected to become an annual nationwide event to promote exchange, connection, and create a social forum to better recognize the role, abilities, and contributions of people with disabilities in socio-economic and cultural life. It also aims to spread the spirit of overcoming difficulties and promote an empowering approach for sustainable development to inspire people with disabilities to be confident in themselves and pro-active in integrate in a wider community.
Vietnam currently has around 8 million people with disabilities, making support for education, employment, and social integration increasingly urgent. A report by the Institute for Research on Sustainable Development Management showed that over 90% of people with disabilities own digital devices and regularly access the internet, but 52% still do not know how to use AI tools for searching information or creating documents, while 65% use devices with accessibility settings. This highlights the strong need for digital skills training and better support conditions.
