During the reception, Minister Tran Hong Ha congratulated the USAID officials for excellently accomplishing their tasks in Vietnam.

After the end of her term in Vietnam, Ms. Yastishock will take up her new position as USAID Asia Director, while Ms. Christine will serve as the Director of USAID South Africa.

Minister Ha hailed the USAID’s active support for Vietnam in the field, particularly climate change and environment protection.

He expressed his hope that the partnership between Vietnam, including its Minister of Environment and Natural Resources and USAID, will be boosted with good outcomes.

For her part, Ms. Ann Marie Yastishock held that Vietnam is facing environmental issues, such as climate change in the Mekong Delta, marine plastic pollution, and biodiversity losses, affirming that USAID is always ready to cooperate with the Vietnamese ministry in particular and Vietnam general to tackle these issues.

The insignia was a recognition of contribution made by the two officials to natural resources and environment protection.
