The event saw the presence of Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice State President; Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, Vice Permanent President of the HCMC WA; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council.

According to a report, upholding the tradition of Vietnamese women, chapters at all levels of the HCMC WA have actively carried out programs to contribute to local development of socio-economy while effectively taking care of their members.

Notably, they have handed over 60.000 gifts worth totally more than VND 24 billion to local women and children, and spent over VND 105 billion to sponsor children orphaned by COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the HCMC WA has also conducted a number of projects, such as using VND 100 billion to support members to do business, encouraging members to plant trees. Its chapters have also well responded to emulation movements and artistic and sport activities to build a good environment for local women.

This year, the association plans to make further contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of the city, strengthen its staff, and hold various emulation drives. In addition, the HCMC WA will run appropriate programs in line with the pandemic prevention and control work, further protect rights of women and children, and submit proposals and policies on women affairs to higher levels.

On this occasion, two offices of the HCMC WA received the third-class Labor Order. Besides, the association presented its merit certificates and VND 200 million in cash to the Vietnamese national women's football team after earning a berth at the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time.
