The Hanoi People’s Committee has just approved a loan of over 28.3 billion to support housing construction for poor people in 2009.

Ba Vi district ranks the first among the benecifiaries with (VND 4 billion. Next are Phu Xuyen and Thanh Oai (VND 3 billion each); Soc Son (VND 2.4 billion); Chuong My and Thuong Tin (VND 1.6 billion each); Ung Hoa, Dong Anh and Me Linh (VND 1.55 each); Thach That (VND 1.39 billion); and Quoc Oai (VND 1.23 billion). The nine inner districts, however, are excluded from the programme.

The smallest loan was given to Son Tay, with VND 120 million.

The city’s authority asked the beneficiaries to effective use the loans for the shake of needy people in the localities.
