The forum, which will be held on August 29 at the Vietnam Exposition Center in Dong Anh commune, is part of activities marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day. |
Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung will chair and deliver keynote remarks at the forum, which will bring together leaders of central ministries, agencies, and localities; representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam; distinguished scientists and experts; and executives of leading domestic and global technology corporations.
The forum is expected to shape development thinking for Vietnam’s science and technology sector in the coming period, while reaffirming the pivotal role of the three pillars — science-technology, innovation, and digital transformation— in driving rapid and sustainable growth, enhancing national competitiveness, and advancing Vietnam’s goal of becoming a high-income developed nation.
The event will feature four in-depth sessions. The first will discuss the future of science and technology, focusing on foundational and strategic technologies. The second will explore solutions to foster innovation and build a national startup ecosystem. The third will highlight digital transformation, particularly digital infrastructure and digital society, with discussions on the future of national digital infrastructure; digital transformation in state governance, healthcare, education, finance, and agriculture; and measures to link innovation with digitization to help boost economic growth to double digits.
The fourth session will be an in-depth discussion covering four key topics: developing human resources for science-technology, innovation, and digital transformation; improving institutions, policies, and laws; enhancing international cooperation; and promoting the role of technology enterprises as drivers of the digital economy.
With the participation of policymakers, scholars, and business leaders from inside and outside the country, the Ministry of Science and Technology expects the forum to be a platform for sharing visions, mobilizing resources, and fostering connections. Beyond that, it is regarded as an important political and social event underscoring Vietnam’s determination to make science-technology, innovation, and digital transformation the key drivers of rapid and sustainable development, in line with the nation’s aspirations for breakthrough progress in the new era.
