Fisheries surveillance ship takes troubled fisherman to shore
PANO - Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No.4 in association with the Naval Region 4 Command handed over fisherman Huynh Minh Thien to his family on September 9 to take him to the hospital for further treatment.
Previously, on September 7, Ship KN411 of the squadron received an order from the mainland to move to Truong Sa Island of Truong Sa (Spratly) island district, Khanh Hoa province to take the patient to shore for further treatment.

Thien, a 54-year-old fisherman of Fishing Ship QNg 95157 TS from Binh Chanh commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, had a stomach ache when fishing squids at sea. He then was diagnosed with colon perforation with high blood pressure by doctors of Truong Sa Lon Island and Military Hospital 175 via the telemedicine system. The doctor then provided him with parenteral nutrition, high-dose antibiotics, painkillers and sedative.

The patient was indicated for emergency surgery with a delay (from 24 to 48 hours). Currently, the patient's health is stable, with a low-grade fever and right flank pain.
