Defense Ministry presents 3D system on General Vo Nguyen Giap to Quang Binh
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony on August 24 to present a 3D holographic-display system introducing the life and career of late General Vo Nguyen Giap to the central province of Quang Binh on the occasion of his 110th birthday anniversary (August 25).
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet said the system containing rich information about the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap will help troops and people, especially the young generation, learn more about the legendary general. He added that this gift is a token of gratitude of the Vietnam People’s Army to its Big Brother.
Earlier, under the instruction of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics, the Vietnam Museum of Military History and relevant agencies studied and developed the system. The project was completed after two months.
The 3D system focuses on introducing 23 places and historical relics in Quang Binh, Thua Thien - Hue, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien and Hanoi where General Vo Nguyen had been to when alive and his outstanding keepsakes. It also includes videos and documentaries briefing the life and career of the Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People’s Army and songs praising the late general’s contributions.
At the event, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee thanked the Ministry of National Defense for its care and sentiment for the central province over the past time.
He instructed the provincial Department of Culture and Sports and the Quang Binh General Museum to effectively operate the system so as to help raise the public awareness of the general and strengthen people’s belief in the “Doi moi” (Renewal) cause of the Party. It will also foster patriotism among people from all walks of life, thus encouraging them to study to contribute to the development of Quang Binh in particular and Vietnam in general.

The same day, a mission of the Ministry of National Defense offered incense at General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in Vung Chua – Dao Yen in Quang Trach district to pay tribute to him.
The mission also toured General Vo Nguyen Giap’s commemorative house in Le Thuy district and visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries in the district.
