In the buildup to the National Day and the 45th founding anniversary of the General Department of Techniques (GDT) of the Vietnam People’s Army, the GDT’s affiliated agencies and units have promoted gratitude activities, information dissemination about the historic significance of the National Day, and the glorious history of the GDT and the Vietnam People’s Army.

These meaningful activities have raised awareness of the young generation of the national and military technical sector’s tradition, aroused their national pride, and encouraged them to further work, study and practice to fulfill all assigned missions.

* A program themed “Enjoying the National Day” will take place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Vinaculto) in Dong Mo area of Kim Son commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi from August 31 to September 30, according to a representative from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on August 27.

The highlight of the event will be a “Kermes of the Northern mountainous province of Lang Son”, during which visitors can learn more about the typical culture of ethnic minorities in the northwestern and northeastern regions, such as H’Mong, Nung, Thai, Tay, Dao and Kho Mu.

* Meanwhile, Division 363 of the Air Defense-Air Force Service on August 27 launched an emulation program themed “55 revolutionary active days” in celebration of the 55th founding anniversary of the Service (October 22) and the 73rd National Day. During the program, the division’s troops will heighten their sense of responsibility and resolve, try their best to gain the best results in their task performances while observing strictly the military discipline and the laws and ensuring labor and traffic safety.

* Also, on August 27, the Party Committee of Quoc Oai district, Hanoi handed over Party badges, including five 70-year Party badges, to 223 Party members.

At the ceremony, a representative from the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee congratulated the recipients, especially five members with 70-year Party badges and hoped that they will continue to take part actively in activities launched by their Party cells and further contribute to the common development of the capital city and the country.
