Central provinces and cities are busy preparing to cope with tropical storm No.7.
They all have plans to evacuate local people from danger areas.
Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen are focused on reinforcing the reservoir and dyke system while guiding fishing vessels to find safe shelter.
They claimed to have about 200 tonnes of rice kept in store as relief aid for people during the flood and storm season.
Meanwhile, the National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control has sent its inspectors to help local authorities in the deployment of emergency plans.
Since the beginning of this year, natural disasters have killed 229 people, injured 355 others, destroyed and swept away more than 2,200 houses and damaged 47,200 hectares of crop with property damages estimated at VND3,200 billion.
Located in central Vietnam, Nghe An has suffered badly, with 12 deaths and an estimated property loss of VND850 billion.
The Government, ministries, agencies, organizations and individuals have provided flood and storm victims with VND7.8 billion in relief aid so far.
