Canon presents bicycles to poor students at Cam Ly High School in Luc Nam district.
Canon Vietnam donated 140 new bicycles at a total value of VND 170 million with the purpose of supporting under-privileged students with good academic records. Of which, 100 new bicycles were transferred to four new schools of the 2017 project, including Viet Tien Secondary school (Viet Yen district), Hiep Hoa 2 High school (Hiep Hoa district), Xuong Lam Secondary school (Lang Giang district), and Cam Ly High school (Luc Nam district); 40 bicycles were given to four schools last year, including Tu Mai Secondary school (Yen Dung district), Dong Tan Secondary school (Hiep Hoa district), Tien Son Secondary School (Viet Yen district), and Lang Giang 3 High School (Lang Giang district). Additionally, Canon donated a Canon printer to staff of Cam Ly High School in order to support their teaching.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Eiji Yasuda, Factory Manager of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., Que Vo Factory, shared his opinion, “Students are the future generation of each nation, and educational cause is the most important cause of the country. Being aware of it, activities of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. always contributes to the students to possibly bring a good environment for students to study, develop and improve themselves, then, joining hands with Vietnamese people to nurture talent – the future owners of the country and build a more sustainable education system, such as the project “Canon Friendship school chain”, “Canon – Cultivate future talents” scholarship. We are proud to present these bicycles to the “Canon helping needy students in schooling” project today.”
On this occasion, Mr. Eiji Yasuda sent his best wishes to all the school management staff, the students of the eight schools in the project and hoped that such schools will successfully complete all assigned tasks for the 2017-2018 school year.
Also in September 2017, representatives of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. will present 140 bicycles for 11 schools in Tien Du, Gia Binh and Luong Tai districts of Bac Ninh province. The hand-over ceremony will be held in the Luong Tai 2 High School in Luong Tai district.
After six years of implementing this project, Canon Viet Nam Co., Ltd. have so far already presented 1,295 bicycles to students in 50 schools of 13 districts in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.
