Border guards’ children granted with scholarships
PANO - One hundred and 10 students from ethnic minority groups, sea and island areas and children of Soc Trang border guards on March 28 received scholarships from Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and “For beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club.

The scholarship-handover ceremony was held in Soc Trang by the standing board of the provincial Youth Union Organization, the provincial Department of Education and Training, the fund and club.
The recipients of the scholarships, each worth VND 1 million, were 20 children of non-commissioned officers of the provincial Border Guard Command, and 90 ethnic minority students, who have overcome difficulties to achieve good academic records.

Addressing the event, former Vice President Truong My Hoa, who is also Chairwoman of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and Head of the “For beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club, highlighted great efforts of the beneficiaries to rise in study. She hoped that the scholarships will be a source of spiritual encouragement for them to continue to surmount hardships, further study, and become good citizens.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Nam thanked the fund and club, and other sponsors for their sentiments and support. He expressed his hope that more local students will receive scholarships to motivate them during their study.
