On the afternoon of October 2, PM Nguyen Tan Dung attended the Vietnam-France business forum as part of his visit at the invitation of his French counterpart Francois Fillon.

Speaking to more than 200 French and Vietnamese entrepreneurs, Mr Dung called on them to promote investment and trade cooperation as practical activities to tighten the time-honoured friendship between the two countries.

The two PMs agreed to create every favourable condition for enterprises to boost trade and investment and help both countries develop in commensuration with their potential and aspirations.

Vietnam is an attractive, safe and effective destination for French enterprises to increase trade and investment cooperation with their Vietnamese partners, Mr Dung said.

The Vietnamese community of 300,000 living in France will serve as a bridge to the promotion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, he added.

Judging from their advantages in terms of high economic growth, great investment opportunities, political stability and abundant labour forces, PM Dung called on Vietnamese enterprises to enhance investment cooperation with French partners for mutual benefit.

He said the Vietnamese Government will continue to reform legal institutions and administrative procedures with a view to creating an open, transparent, favourable investment environment in line with international practices, and offer every condition for foreign investors to operate profitably in the country. Vietnam regards the interests of foreign investors’ as those of its national economy and wants to facilitate foreign investments including those from French enterprises, on the basis of the fine friendship between the two countries.

Later, PM Dung met the heads of the National Assembly and the Senate of France and professors and students from National Polytechnic University.
