PANO - Five out of six Vietnamese contestants pocketed medals at the 11th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), hosted by Argentina from December 3rd to 10th.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training on December 13th, the five students, all from the Hanoi-Amsterdam Gifted High School, won 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. It is the highest result of Vietnam after 7 years participating in the competition.
IJSO is organized annually for students under 15 in three subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Competitors compete in multiple choice, theoretical, and experimental examinations.
This year’s competition drew the participation of 234 students from 41 countries and territories. Just 10 countries have got gold medals, including 5 countries with 2 gold medals and over.
