PANO – The Central Committee of Vietnamese Farmers' Association, in association with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), held a meeting in response to the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children Campaign on December 8th.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan underlined that in the process of development and international integration, Vietnam is especially concerned with rolling out measures for gender equality and ensuring social welfare to win sustainable development goals.

Many state-level programs and targets, drawing active participation of the government ministries, branches and people, and receiving assistance from the international community, have reached considerable records.
She asked relevant agencies to raise public awareness of gender equality and women’s position in families and society in order to successfully bring the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) to life.
The Vietnamese Farmers' Association should also improve its information dissemination activities to explicitly address violence against women and children.
