A Vietnamese delegation led by Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien attended the International Medical Conference held in London on September 29-30.
Minister Tien briefed the conference on Vietnam’s experience in creating health policies based on the country's laws and the results of methodological, objective and systematic research.
He said that the Vietnamese Ministry of Health will invest more money and cooperate with technical support from foreign experts to achieve its target of improving citizens’ health.
The conference was organised by the BMJ Group and the UK non-governmental organization (NGO) NICE International to discuss measures to improve the health of all people around the world. It attracted many government officials, researchers and donors from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, the Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey and Vietnam.
Earlier, Minister Tien worked with the UK Department of Health (DFH), the Department for International Development and NGOs such as the Wellcome Trust and NICE.
These organizations pledged to continue providing technical support and financing for Vietnam’s primary healthcare services and for developing health insurance and environmental sanitation policies.
