The project, costing more than VND 68 billion (USD 3 million), will install a 10,630 meter water pipeline, running from Dong Tam water plant to Go Cong Tay’s Thanh Tri, Long Vinh and Long Binh communes and the whole of Tan Phu Dong district, according to Huynh Cong Dung, director of Tien Giang Water Company.
The system will have capacity of 11,000 cubic meters per day and night.
The company has utilized its resources to promptly implement the project, Dung said, stressing that more than 9,600 meters of pipeline had been installed.
The project will become operational in July and will help tackle water shortages in localities suffering from drought and saline intrusion.
