In his report, Major General Ngo Van Bich, Head of the Department of Mass Mobilization, highlighted the outcome of the movement over the past five years. Accordingly, the movement has been carried out comprehensively and in close attachment to the movement of “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples” and other patriotic emulation movements launched nationwide and by localities.
Notably, the movement has actively contributed to building comprehensively strong units and organizations, to improving the army’s combined quality and combat strength, building firm popularity posture and brightening the virtue of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new period.
So far, under this movement, as many as 6,323 groups have been named “Unit excellent at mass mobilization”, and more than 8,000 individuals and groups have received commendation and rewards.
On behalf of the Party and the State, State President Truong Tan Sang lauded the role models and confirmed that mass mobilization in the army is part of the Party’s mass mobilization work and also part of the VPA’s good nature and tradition.
He also emphasized this work is a bridge between the people and the Party to foster military and civilian solidarity.
The State President hoped the whole army would further boost the movement and the “Determination to Win” emulation movement to make them more effective and developed. To this end, the education work should be promoted to raise the awareness and sense of responsibility of army officers and soldiers in the role and position of the Party and the Army’s mass mobilization work in the new situation. Moreover, role models in mass mobilization should be duplicated widely while more training for those involved in the work should be conducted.
State President Truong Tan Sang also hoped that the good examples would be multiplied across the army so that the mass mobilization movement would see more good results in the future.
