The seminar drew the participation of experts from Vietnam, UNICEF and other countries like Norway, Malaysia, India, and Mongolia.
Speaking at the event, NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu emphasized that Vietnam has always given priority to children’s protection, care and education, and has made remarkable achievements in this field.
According to the experts at the seminar, children are fully entitled to human and civil rights like adults and need special protection, care and education. Therefore, the establishment of a monitoring mechanism of children’s rights is absolutely essential. UNICEF also recommended that the agency should be independent in its work, allocated with sufficient resources, and be held responsible for its activities.
